The R4G team consists of a group of bloggers from across the UK who will be committing their time and energy both on the challenges but also supporting the fundraising on the ground. They did this as they wanted to help their friend and her child, Grayson. So without further preamble, do meet the team: Kirsty Taylor-Gallop – Walk . Kirsty started blogging back in 2011 when she created a blog about things to do before she turned 30. She got the blogging bug and...

I don’t think in a blog post or even in a few hours I could tell you Grayson’s story, in the short 5 years he has been with us my miracle child has honestly amazed everyone he meets, he has moved his own Mountains, he has done that by still just being alive. I shall try and give you a basic idea of Grayson though, I think it is very hard for people to actually visualise how he is, I talk a lot on my blog about him and have done for the past few years, but honestly...

I am missing cycling. I like cycling. I like sticking on a bit of Justin (that'll be Timberlake not Bieber!) and off I go. I bought my fancy new bike, with every intention of running or cycling every day but alas, the weather has meant my poor old bike is collecting cobwebs. I just can't cycle in the wind and rain. Hell, there has even been hailstones! I know some can, I see these people cycling away while I am in the car but I'm just not confident enough,...

Kirsty is currently doing 100 days on a scooter as one of her mini #r4grayson challenges - she will blog all about that soon. Today she decided to nip out at lunch and get her scoot on, as you do. Only is was pouring down, still, not deterred and committed to the cause, off she went ... Fast forward a bit and poor old Kirsty is currently sitting at work in an office with a fleece jacket as a makeshift skirt whilst her fan dries her soaked through jeans.  She's even...

Kara and Ash have fought really hard to get their little boy a Leakey Walker, they have gone through three appeals, board meetings and hours of walker assessments and on Monday the 25th they got the news they have been hoping for, Kara was told that the NHS are going to fund Grayson's Leckey Walker!! This is incredible news and Kara is in shock! It's the first time her hard work has paid off. However, this isn't the end of the Raising for Grayson story. That...

Blogging is a funny thing to try and explain to people who don’t write one or don’t read them regularly. I have ‘online friends’ who I speak to more than I speak to some of my closest friends and family. Although just typed words on my phone or laptop, some of these women know more about what is going on in my world than the friends I have known for years. I speak to these ladies every day, and they are a constant source of friendship as I go about my day to day...

Dear Kara and Ash, There are many things said about the validity of the friendships made through this cyber world that we share. Friendships that people on the outside like to label as fake or unimportant, your 'online friends', 'blogger buddies', 'Twitter mates'. Those attitudes used to wind us up but we're way past caring what other people think about the amazing friendships we've made online. Friendships that have spilt so far into daily life that they've changed...

Sometimes it takes just one thing to make a massive difference and change someones life for the better. In Grayson's case, the item he so desperately needs is a Leckey Kidwalk. The Lecky Kidwalk is a state of the art piece of equipment, one which is used regularly by occupational therapists. One which the NHS trust is unable to provide. Without this walker, Grayson can barely stand straight, let alone take independent steps. This one piece of equipment can make such a...

One of the challenges we've decided to take on is the 9 mile Llanberis Path to the summit of Snowdon. It's the longest of all the routes to the top, which is certainly going to be an achievement for all of us taking part. The 9 mile walk doesn't seem too daunting when you think of it as a flat walk, but once you realise that it's a gradual elevation of 3,199ft as well, the quads and calves muscles start shaking. I wouldn't say we are the unfittest bunch ever, but we...
